Wrapping up 2023 and looking ahead to 2024 at Coiniverse

In 2023 we improved the service, added more coins, and hit the milestone of 130 000 registered collectors in Coiniverse.  

Altogether we  released 12 versions of  the app during 2023 – the latest one including improvements in the Shop. The new shop is  a starting point for our upcoming marketplace development in 2024. 

In September we launched the new Club, a subscription service with premium features like coin value checker, collection insights, release calendar, and more. If you have not tried this one yet, it’s a free trial for 7 days, so no risk involved. 

Our  main focus is to provide the collectors great stories behind the coins with our most accurate coin database. During  2023 we have kept adding new coins – both from those suggested by our users but also from our member mints and other partners. In 2024 we will focus even more on growing the database and making it easier for you to inform us about coins you find missing.  

During 2023 we increased the amount of our registered users from 80.000 to 130.00. It’s really nice to see that so many coin collectors have found Coiniverse and are enjoying the stories of the coins and also sharing their collections with other Coiniverse users. The average engagement time per session is over seven minutes, so we are providing interesting content and will continue to do so during 2024.  

Users from all over the world

Coiniverse users come from all over the world. Most users we have are from France, Italy, Spain, USA and Portugal. Half of our users are between 35-54 years old and experts with over 15 years of experience. We have also attracted newbies, as around a third of the users have been collecting coins for less than 5 years.  

The collections

Most of Coiniverse users collect both circulation and commemorative coins. Our collectors have impressive collections, nearly 10% have collections of over 5.000 coins and around half have collections of over 500 coins. It’s interesting to see the variety in collecting perspectives – from coin types to themes, country of origin, and historical periods. Our European users, contrary to popular belief, collect coins from all over the world, not just euros.

Expanding our coin database 

In 2024, we're dedicated to grow our coin catalogue with most coins from Europe and North America and strengthen our position as  the best coin database for coin collectors. We will also improve the related features in the app to make it easier for you to find and add a coin to your collection and  to show your collection to other users.   

Improving coin identifier   

We will focus on improving our coin scanner's UX/UI and enhancing its recognition model for even better results. Our goal is to make adding coins to your collection a seamless and enjoyable experience, with continuous improvements in features and functionality. 

Developing the Coiniverse Marketplace 

Our vision for the marketplace is to establish Coiniverse as the premier community and mint-based marketplace for enthusiasts around the world.  

We want to offer a go-to place for discovering your next collectible—whether it's buying a mint-fresh coin, swapping with fellow collectors, or finding rare pieces from other collectors or dealers, or even selling duplicates in your collection. This will transform the Coiniverse into a dynamic and interconnected community hub. 

We’re expecting to get many new mints and partners onboard  to make Coiniverse even more connected hub for the whole coin collecting community.  

And of course – we aim to get the word out to many new Coiniverse users out there. If you like what we’re doing, give us a helping hand and tell your peers about the service. And as always, if there is something that is missing, tell us and we see what we can do about it.
