First coins sold exclusively on Coiniverse sell out in 72 hours
This is the first time that collectors have been able to discover and check out their purchases in a single session in the app.
Helsinki, Finland – April 2, 2024 - Coiniverse Ltd, the Coiniverse coin collecting app developer, is proud to announce a landmark event in our history. As part of a proof-of-concept test, commemorative coins were sold directly from our platform for the first time, collapsing the buyer's journey from discovery to checkout to a single platform. Previously, users had to go through Coiniverse to a mint's web shop to finish the purchase, which increased friction in the process and potentially hurt sales.
As a unique feature, any collector who purchased the coin also received a non-fungible token (NFT). This NFT serves as a permanent digital proof of ownership. If the coin is sold, the NFT can be transferred through the Ethereum blockchain to the new owner, ensuring the authenticity and origin of the coin.
The proof-of-concept test was a resounding success, with the coins selling out through the Coiniverse Shop within the first 72 hours of their availability.

Adding NFTs to sold coins will enhance the security and robustness of the secondary market in the future and potentially open new revenue streams to mints as well."
The coin in question is the "100th Anniversary of Birth of Ilmari Tapiovaara," minted by the Mint of Finland.
This initiative, announced at the beginning of the year, is part of our push to elevate the industry's e-commerce efforts. The development process by the Coiniverse team, from the decision to launch, took just one month.
